National Council

 

Wing Riders SA is governed by a National Council

The National Council is the national executive body of the Association and is composed of the following members:

  • National President;
  • National Vice-President;
  • National Secretary;
  • National Treasurer;
  • National Marketing Co-ordinator; and
  • Chapter Chairpersons and Vice-Chairpersons or, in their absence, their representatives.

The National Council is mandated to implement the Association’s objectives, manage and coordinate its affairs, and ensure proper functioning in line with the Constitution and AGM decisions. It is responsible for managing all business matters, coordinating Chapters to uphold the Association’s brand, assisting Chapters where possible, and administering member benefits, such as providing valuations for insurance purposes. The National Council manages disciplinary matters according to the Member Manual and holds authority over final rulings. It ensures that an AGM is held annually. It maintains a bank account with at least two signatories and covers key fixed expenses such as insurance, website costs, Flickr account costs, Wing Fling trophies, badges and shirts, and other administrative costs. Funding comes from advertising, new member joining fees, and a percentage of annual fees from members.
