Central Chapter run to EST’s Arrive Alive campaign: 13 Apr 2019

Central Chapter was invited by the Emergency Support Team to attend their Arrive Alive fundraiser and awareness campaign on Saturday, 13 April 2019. Wing Riders SA fully support the great work that Arrive Alive does in our country. As motorcycle riders, road safety and the adherence to road traffic rules and laws in order to save lives, are of the utmost importance to each one of us. Central Chapter and Big Rigs went to Middelburg on 24 February 2019

Motorists on the N12 and the N4, and spectators in Middelburg, were treated to a spectacular sight this weekend. The public had an exciting opportunity to view ridiculously cool, rare, sought-after and beautiful motorcycles and trucks – together. Wing Riders of South Africa and friends, and Big Rigs, rode together on Sunday, 24 February, from Johannesburg to Middelburg. The Honda Gold Wing is internationally known as “the bike that makes you smile”. To have had the opportunity to see these motorcycles, riding in convoy with huge, powerful, shiny, well-loved trucks, created several goosebumps moments. Wing Riders of South Africa prides...

68 Central Chapter members and guests joined the first run for 2019 yesterday. Members drove in groups from all wind directions to join up at the Imagine Café which is situated at the Bronkhostspruit Dam. It was lovely to see our Wing family again, especially on a run with almost all members present. Everyone was seated outside in a shaded and private enclosure and enjoyed a lovely meal with fresh and generous portions. A surprise for us, was that the famous Anton Smit sculpture studio is part of the Imagine Café with mind-blowing works to view, inside and outside. The...

Joe Hatem and Armando Pellencin, former members of Wing Riders SA, also passed away. We remember the trike accident of Henry and Louise,...

Central Chapter: 2018 Year-end function and AGM

Thank you to members of Central Chapter who participated in a most enjoyable weekend spent at Stonehenge in Africa from 16 to 18 November 2018. Some of our members chose the camping option, while others stayed in the lodge. This is where we enjoyed our burger braai on Friday night, where we laughed until we cried and sang songs led by Neels van Niekerk on the ukulele and Retha Roos on the guitar.   Dinner and dancing and again, much fun and laughter:   Congratulations to the 2019 Central Chapter Committee. Chapter members are looking forward to another exciting year...

Central Chapter: Newsletter November 2018

Newsletter – November 2018 Hello to all the Wingers and Winglettes A number of items to be discussed – please take your time to read and respond where needed. Central’s “iron butt” competition: You will recall that we recorded the starting mileage of bikes and trikes by means of a photograph to me at the end of last year. The time has come to redo the exercise so that we can work out who put on the highest mileage in 2018. I have mistakenly told a few people that the rules stated that you have to be at the AGM...
