Central Chapter run: Cullinan and Nic & Maraai’s home

53 Members of Central Chapter plus 4 guests on 17 bikes and 19 trikes, joined the Chapter for its monthly run today. Members came from all directions and gathered at the final gathering point just before Cullinan. After exploring Cullinan, everyone departed on the short ride to Nic and Maraai Hechter's home for a bring and braai. Everyone parked their bikes and trikes in the shade under big trees and then made themselves comfortable in the huge lapa. The Hechters surprised members with a very talented musician, Jaco van Wyk, who entertained us all day beside the pool - and...

Central Chapter run: SAA Museum and The Beer Co on 11 February 2018

On Sunday, 11 February 2018, the Central Chapter of Wing Riders SA motorcycle club had their monthly run to the SAA Museum in Germiston. Their main goal was to treat Neels van Zyl to an awesome outing, as motorcycles STILL make his eyes sparkle with joy. Neelsie, as most people call him affectionately, had a motorcycle accident just one month before his 16th birthday which left him with a serious left-brain injury and, as a result, he became a right-side hemiplegic. Seventeen Gold Wing and Valkyrie bikes, 25 trikes, 42 riders, 23 pillions and a variety of other bikes, riders,...

Central Chapter: Newsletter February 2018

Hello Everybody As we get more into the swing of chapter-related matters, we try new things. Some more successful than others, but if you do not try, you will never know. Sometimes it will come with change. This letter is one of those new things we are implementing today. We have discussed amongst ourselves and acknowledged that it is very impractical to have our monthly meeting in a public place during the run. It is both noisy and distracting to non-related people. On top of that, members who cannot make the run, miss out on the information. So, from now...
