President’s Chat – 24 December 2020

As this disaster that is 2020 draws to a close, we look back and think of generally speaking how lucky we all were, and how difficult it is for others who have lost loved ones, their livelihoods, their homes and cars, their self-respect, etc., all due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

As Wing Riders, we don’t always realise how fortunate we are to have an organisation such as the Wing Riders which has for many of us, come to represent an extended family, sharing passions and friendships. A collective shoulder to cry on, an ear that listens, a group that shares the experiences of the individual and the resulting burdens, is something that, whilst not tangible, nonetheless is very real and of real value.

As the President of the Wing Riders of South Africa, it is my sincere wish that on the day that we celebrate the birth of our Saviour Jesus Christ, we also look back and give thanks for where we are today, and consider the plight of others less fortunate than us.

I would like to wish each and every one of you, a most blessed Christmas, filled with the presence of loved ones and good times.

At the same time, and in advance, I wish you all the very best for 2021, and we know it can only get better from now.

Take care, and we’ll see you early in the new year.

Luke Hartog
President: Wing Riders SA
