Central Chapter run: Cullinan and Nic & Maraai’s home

53 Members of Central Chapter plus 4 guests on 17 bikes and 19 trikes, joined the Chapter for its monthly run today. Members came from all directions and gathered at the final gathering point just before Cullinan.

After exploring Cullinan, everyone departed on the short ride to Nic and Maraai Hechter’s home for a bring and braai. Everyone parked their bikes and trikes in the shade under big trees and then made themselves comfortable in the huge lapa. The Hechters surprised members with a very talented musician, Jaco van Wyk, who entertained us all day beside the pool – and who also took a few aerial photos with his drone (included in our Facebook album, see the link below).

Nic treated us to scrumptious lemon peri-peri chicken wings while we sat down to relax with something cold and catch up with our Wing family.

Maraai proved herself to be a chef of note with wonderful side dishes, among others, home-baked breads, all beautifully prepared and presented. Zenda is a master of desserts – the chocolate pudding was to die for and the malva pudding delicious and decadent. Both of you should keep your recipes close – you will be called upon to make them again in the not too distant future.

No one was really ready to go home around 16:00, but then the dark, blue clouds started to appear in the sky. A few got rather wet before they reached their homes.

A HUGE thank you, once again, to our host and hostess, Nic and Maraai, to Zenda, to everyone who lent a hand when it was needed and to all who participated and enjoyed this day to the fullest! Another unforgettable get-together of Wing Riders Central Chapter.
