Western Cape Chapter: Charity run with “Helpende Handjies” on 10 December 2017

With all the hustle and bustle of the Christmas season, people sometimes forget that this holiday is about sharing peace and joy with others. As an act of kindness, three biker groups got together on Sunday, 10 December 2017. Wing Riders Western Cape Chapter joined in to assist the care centre called "Helpende Handjies" by collecting food items and taking it to Montagu for children from the squatter camp. The Wing Riders left Cape Town at 08:15 to meet up with the other biking groups in Worcester at 10:00. On route, biking groups from Ashton joined the pack and all...

Western Cape Chapter: Progressive Run on 19 November 2017

President’s Chat – December 2017

When I joined the Wing Riders almost five years ago, little did I realise that I would be sitting in the hot seat today as the newly elected National President of this wonderful organisation. It is both an honour and a privilege to have been elected as the National President and as such, I can assure you that I have only the best interests of the members and the advancement of the Wing Riders SA, as a whole, at heart. We, as the National Committee, as well as the Chapter Committees, share these ideals and we serve at the pleasure...

Central Chapter: Report by Chairman (Luke Hartog) at AGM on 11 November 2017

It was once again an honour and privilege to serve as the Chairman of a wonderful group of people that is the Central Chapter. It is my second year as Chairman of the chapter. We are currently 76 members strong, as opposed to 81 at this time last year. The difference is due to some members having resigned stating that the club no longer has meaning for them, they wish to do their own thing, and others have sold their bikes having given up riding due to health issues. We also gained some members during the year. We also lost a...

2017 Wing Fling Awards and Trophies

Awards and trophies are not just about a pat on the back or a quick ego boost. They are about recognising and rewarding the efforts of individual Wing Riders who simply did the best in certain categories. In all the categories, it was extremely hard, not only to choose the three most outstanding contestants, but to reach a conclusion as to the final winners, took long hours of deliberation and consideration. We should always keep in mind why we own the best bike in the world ... to ride. We should always remember that we belong to this amazing club ......
