Central Chapter run: Hô-Kaai Bistro, Loskop Dam area and to Hendrik and Maria Sadie in Groblersdal

Members from Central Chapter travelled from everywhere to meet up at the last departure point in Witbank. From there we travelled to Hô-Kaai Pub & Bistro, situated next to the N11 between Middelburg and Groblersdal where we had a buffet brunch while enjoying our friends' company. By 14:00, some members went home and the rest travelled to Groblersdal where we stayed over at the B&B of Hendrik and Maria Sadie. We had a braai with delicious side dishes and Rita Schoeman's birthday cake for dessert. Thank you for sharing your birthday with us, Rita. Breakfast was fruit salad and yoghurt and...

President’s Chat – 31 August 2018

I should perhaps start by apologising for the deafening silence over the past five months or so. Work pressures have just been enormous, and even my bike has got about a month’s worth of dust on it. Terrible, I know. Anyway, welcome again to all Wing Riders from this corner of the National Council. As I write this, we are in the home stretch for Wing Fling 2018 with about a month and a half to go. All indications are that it’s going to be great, and so far about fifty members have confirmed their attendance. You should all by...

Central Chapter Mystery Run: 25 and 26 August 2018

A "Mystery Run" was organised by Barbara and Stefan Polessnig. No one knew the destination until shortly before arrival. The destination turned out to be The Nest Hotel, a delightful country hotel situated in the Champagne Valley in the Central Drakensberg area of KwaZulu-Natal. It is a World Heritage site and was built in 1933. History On 21 September 1849 David Grey of Cathkin in Scotland left with his wife and four children on the barque Aliwal for Port Natal (Durban). In 1855 he moved to The Nest on the Voortrekker farm bought from Opperman, which stretched well into the Drakensberg....

Western Cape Chapter run: Rooi-Els, 18 August 2018

Western Cape Chapter run: Lambertsbaai on 20 to 22 July 2018

By Kardoesie, bo by Piekenierskloofpas, is daar al 'n plaat oranje Namakwalandse madeliefies.  Ook langs die pad by Clanwilliam steek die blomme hulle koppies uit, en hoe wonderlik om die dam so vol te sien, met glads 'n sluis oop, nadat hy omtrent leeg was toe ons Kakamas toe...
